Day 1

So when I decided to blog about my weight loss I thought I was 160 pounds and had 30 pounds to lose to reach my goal of 130 pounds. I was horrified to see at my weigh-in that I was 169.2 pounds. At almost 170 pounds (heavier than I was on the day I delivered my daughter!) I have 40 pounds to lose. As I said in my description, I am not trying to offend those who weigh more...or those who have weighed a lot more, have worked hard to lose tons of weight and are now 170 lbs. Everyone has their limits. I am maxed out for my comfort level and must do something about it!

But what? you ask...

I am not a doctor...no degree in endocrinology nor am I a nutritionist. I am not advising anyone to do what I am doing. I do not want to be responsible for someone getting sick or injured for following what I am doing to see if it works for them. All I know is that on Christmas Day I saw a cousin I had not seen all year...and I was shocked! She had dropped over 60 lbs and her husband lost about the same, maybe more. She looks great and is so happy. What is more amazing is that this cousin of mine has never been thin EVER! She has ALWAYS been overweight! If this regimen works on her...it has to work on me. Quite frankly, I was so desperate she could have told me that she hammers nails in her finger tips to keep her from eating and I may have followed in her footsteps! Thank God it is nothing that drastic!

Now the debate: Do I tell everyone exactly what I am doing or do I keep it a secret until I lose all the weight and then reveal it in the end? I am leaning towards keeping it a secret for two reasons: 1. The regimen tends to get rolling eyes and frowns because it was once not as great as it is today. Kind of like me saying I am going to start selling Amway...most people have a negative attitude about Amway and would roll their eyes at me. 2. It would keep people away from trying it before seeing if it works. Maybe I can be a living testament as to its effectiveness.

Either way, I am going to tell you what I am doing daily, what I am eating and what my activities are without revealing exactly what it is. Every time I weigh-in, I will post it. I will keep a record of how much I lose and how much I spend. Then in the end we will all see the results and if you decide to do it, fabulous!

So for today -
Weight: 169.2 lbs.
Money spent so far $0.00 (gas money?):

I had some vitamin supplements, hot tea and a meal replacement shake for breakfast. The shake was amazing! One of my biggest weakness is a good ol' chocolate shake...and this healthy shake could have fooled me! I could not taste the vitamin/protein yucky taste that turns most people away. Delish! I then had a small lunch of green chile stew and 2 really small pieces of pizza for dinner. The great thing about this regimen is that you can still eat normal lunch and dinners...just small portions! You do not cheat yourself out of anything! MODERATION! I intended to do some step aerobics tonight but I woke up with a sinus headache and after tylenol, and 2 doses of ibuprofen, it lingers...

We will see what tomorrow brings.
